About the Project

‘Minar –e-Begampura’

An upcoming national monument nicknamed ‘Minar-e-Begampura’ which will be dedicated to Shri Guru Ravidass ji and his contribution to society and the world at large, made us use best of our creative energies, knowledge and skills. Guruji spent his entire life in ‘Simran’, constantly dedicating his efforts towards upliftment of his fellow beings. He took a path of self purification to fight against the unfair caste system and social myths prevalent in people’s minds.

Design evolution of the complex begins with the human form in a ‘state of meditation’ – a state of mind with clean thoughts, still like a lake without ripples, reflecting everything that surrounds it. This abstract form becomes the basis for the design layout of the complex, with a 151 feet high tower rising from the apex point of the site, symbolic of the position of the head. The entire complex is designed as a sculptural, free flowing and organic form, a poetic expression with seamless fluidity between exterior and interior spaces – form and function, further reiterating a state of balance between the inner self and nature around us.

Spread over a sprawling 12 acres, the complex sits in nature’s lap with generously provisioned green surrounds and landscaped zones & pathways, inviting the onlooker and soothing the senses of its visitors. Apart from being a unique sculptural expression, the complex features various facilities like

A ‘Sangat Hall’ – Congregation / Prayer Hall for 10,00 visitors with large open sunken courts around at the entry and exit for convenient ingress and egress, and a completely landscaped roof providing comfortable shaded interior space for offering prayer and meditation.

A ‘ Sarai’ with accomodation for upto 500 visitors, a VIP lounge, community kitchen hall and other complementing facilities for comfortable stay.

A ‘ 50 seat 5D theatre’ & ‘ 500 seat auditorium’ with world class facilities for special events, film screenings and other cultural programmes.

A ‘ Grand Open-Air-Theatre’ with capacity of hosting thousands of spectators, followed by a ‘Museum and Interpretation Centre’ that will empower to preserve and succesfully present historical milestones and teachings of Guruji.

A ‘151 feet high minar’ at the apex, consisting of 151 fins rising up together towards the sky – signifying the spirit of ‘unity & equality’ which form the very essence of Guruji’s teachings. The tower will be like a museum with rooftop gardens at its origin, and a viewing gallery at the top offering breathtaking views of the surroundings and the project itself.
